St. Peter’s Lewes to host cookie walk Dec. 14

December 2, 2019

Fans of scrumptious holiday goodies are eagerly anticipating the St. Peter’s Cookie Walk at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14.

Hundreds of homemade, beautifully decorated holiday cookies will be sold in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall at the corner of Second and Mulberry streets in downtown Lewes. The sale will last until all cookies are sold. Early birds will get the best selection.

In addition to classic decorated sugar cookies and gingerbread men, yummy treats such as chocolate crackle cookies, molasses crinkles, peppermint wedding cookies, Scottish shortbread, mocha truffle cookies and toffee almond sandies will be available. Cookie aficionados can fill a large box for $12 or a small one for $8.

Proceeds will go toward a travel fund set up by St. Peter’s Choir for a future summer trip to sing in a cathedral in Europe. Also benefiting will be Feed the Children Heart and Soul, an outreach ministry founded at St. Peter’s that partners with organizations such as the Primeros Pasos early learning center in Georgetown, the Food Bank of Delaware, and the Cape Henlopen Community Bookmobile to provide books, school supplies and nutritious foods to children in need in the local area.
