Star Wars Fest: In a field not far, far away

Benefit event brings out host of Darth Vaders, Yodas, Mandalorians, Reys and Obi-Wans

The Revival House and Beebe Medical Foundation joined forces to present Star Wars Fest Aug. 27 at Hudson Fields near Milton. All proceeds and donations go to Beebe’s hospital.

“The last time the original ‘Star Wars’ was available theatrically was back in 1997,” said Rob Rector of Revival House. “That means there is an entire generation that has only been able to view it on their TVs, laptops or smartphones. We wanted them to be able to view it all in the grandeur we remember when we first watched it.”

Rob Waters of Revival House, a local filmmaker and organizer of the event, said fans were able to see the blockbuster film on a Death-Star-sized screen.

The event comes on the heels of Jaws Fest and Jurassic Fest, which helped to raise more than $40,000 for Beebe.

The event featured music from the Fitzkee Brothers and Electric Smoke, an assortment of food trucks, axe throwing, craft beer and wine, local artists and other vendors, and a costume contest. Revelation Craft Brewing unveiled its Jedi Juice IPA just for the festival.
