Story Hill Farm acquires Henlopen Sea Salt
Story Hill Farm in Frankford recently announced its acquisition of Henlopen Sea Salt.
After a two-year partnership, the acquisition is a natural next step in bringing two mission-based enterprises committed to local food production together under one roof.
For generations, Delawareans have made their living from the land and sea. Sea salt, which was once a fixture in Sussex County, traces its origins of salt harvesting back to the 1800s.
“I'm excited to see Henlopen Sea Salt continue its legacy under the guidance of Story Hill Farm," said David Burris, founder of Henlopen Sea Salt. "Their values and commitment to sustainable agriculture and heritage preservation align perfectly, and I'm confident that the salt we've been producing together will only continue to thrive in their hands."
Henlopen Sea Salt manufacturing operations relocated to Story Hill Farm in 2022, greatly expanding production capabilities.
"Story Hill Farm is thrilled to continue building on Dave’s ideas and extend our stewardship from the land to the sea and create more locally sourced ingredients that are raised and produced right here in Sussex County," said Helen Raleigh, who co-founded Story Hill Farm with Steve Raleigh and Derek Kuebeck.
