Forty years of state tournament field hockey and Cape nailed down title number four with the 2012 state championship. The Vikings rank second on the all-time list behind Tower Hill's incredible 18 state championships.
All four Vikings state championship head coaches were in the room, including Carolyn Ivins 1979, Ruth Skoglund 1995 and Nicole Hughes 2011. Cape assistant Debbie Windett won the title in 2004 as head coach of Caesar Rodney.
The Vikings graduate just five seniors from a top-to-bottom program stocked with talented players.
