Sussex Central to host Southern Delaware Festival of the Arts April 22
The Take Two Drama Club will participate in the second annual Southern Delaware Festival of the Arts set for 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 22, at Sussex Central High School, the club’s home base.
Drama instructor and director David Warick said, “We are so grateful to Delaware Shakespeare Festival for providing us with Eric Mills, a magnificent performer and teacher, to participate in this year’s Southern Delaware Festival of the Arts here at Sussex Central. We invite any interested adults and teens to come join us at 10 a.m. in the theater for this fun, newcomer-friendly workshop.”
Eric Mills is an actor, director, teacher and member of Delaware Shakespeare’s Artistic Squad. He teaches in Delaware Shakespeare’s Juvenile Justice Program and independently teaches acting workshops throughout the year. He was an adjunct professor at the University of the Arts and has taught at Brooklyn College, Creative Arts High School in Camden, N.J., and the Young Conservatory at ACT. Most recently, he performed in “Florence” at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, and in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Delaware Shakespeare.
Also at the festival, seniors Katey Megginson and Kamryn Camper will perform duets from their roles in SCHS’ spring musical, “Chicago: Teen Edition” during the 3 to 5 p.m. block in the theater.
