One adult and five teens face felony shoplifting charges after police say they stole goods from the Under Armour outlet Oct. 10 in Rehoboth Beach before leading police on a vehicle pursuit.

Delaware State Police were called to the Bayside outlets at 3:45 p.m. about a shoplifting incident involving several suspects who fled the Under Armour store in a blue 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, said Sr. Cpl. Leonard DeMalto of the Delaware State Police.

Troopers spotted the vehicle heading northbound on Route 1 near Broadkill Road, DeMalto said, and they tried to stop it but the vehicle continued heading north until tire deflation devices placed on Route 1 near Bakersfield Road disabled the vehicle.

The vehicle came to a stop in the 10000 block of Route 1 and six occupants fled on foot, DeMalto said. All six were taken into custody with help from the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.

DeMalto said the Chevrolet Equinox had been reported stolen on Oct. 7 by Delaware State Police Troop 9. During a search of the vehicle, DeMalto said, police found more than $2,000 worth of merchandise shoplifted from Under Armour and about .019 grams of marijuana. No injuries were reported in this incident, and the stolen vehicle was successfully recovered by the Delaware State Police, DeMalto said.

Police arrested Terrance Selby, 30, of Dover, and five boys – one 16 and four 17 – and charged them with felony organized retail crime over $1,500, felony shoplifting over $1,500, felony receiving stolen property over $1,500, second-degree conspiracy, and resisting arrest.

The 16-year-old driver faces felony disregarding a police officer signal and traffic charges, and all but one 17-year-old faces marijuana possession.

All were arraigned at Justice of the Peace 3. The 16-year-old was committed to Stevenson House Detention Center in default of $2,516 secured bond; Selby was released on $10,200 unsecured bond; one 17-year-old was released on $2,101 unsecured bond; and three 17-year-olds were released on their own recognizance.
