Ten of the top 22 runners listed Rehoboth Beach as their city of residence for the 11th annual Tommy Coveleski 5K held Oct. 19, at Thompson Island Brewing Company. The race was sponsored by Sussex Consortium and Rylie’s Smile Foundation.
Max Coveleski, 34, was the overall winner in 20:12. He was followed by masters winner Rob Thomson, 42, in 20:44.
Saorla Hefferan, 25, was the overall women’s winner in 25:58. Vivian Bush, 57, won the female masters race in 29:51.
The RBP lifeguard connection of TR Marshall, 39, 23:34; Bryan Bowles, 53, 24:06; and Josh Coveleski, 39, 24:27, placed seventh through ninth.
There were 62 recorded times for runners, plus a competitive 5K walk, while another large group elected the one-mile, non-competitive walk.
The next Races2Run beach event is the Rylie’s Smile Turkey Escape 5K and 1-Miler Thursday, Nov. 28, in Lewes.
