Four local chefs were featured during the UD by the Sea culinary track presentations May 24-25 at the Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Rehoboth Beach.
On May 24, demonstrations were offered by Kevin Reading, an entrepreneur, chef and restaurant owner who opened Espuma in Rehoboth in 2001, and by Paul Cullen, a musician, chef and sommelier who offered a wine-tasting experience. On May 25, Hari Cameron, co-owner of Grandpa Mac near Rehoboth Beach, offered a teaching and cooking demonstration on Pasta Perfection, and the series concluded with Megan Kee, named a Rising Star by the Delaware Restaurant Association, who owns Bramble & Brine at the Buttery in downtown Lewes, among other Cape Region restaurants.
The sessions were coordinated by Lewes couple Paul Collins and Denise Bridgens. UD by the Sea was a four-day event coordinated by members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Lewes. Other seminars dealt with U.S. foreign affairs, the arts in Delaware and presentations on what makes Delaware unique.
