Vietnam Veterans of America members pack Easter dinners

Vietnam Veterans of America Sussex Chapter 1105 members gathered early March 29 at the Mountaire Farms plant in Selbyville to assemble Easter dinner packages for community members in need.

Coordinating chapter volunteers this year was First Vice President Rodger Rose, an Air Force Vietnam vet. Meals included Mountaire roasters along with potatoes and veggies and brownie mix. Rose said this year’s event was the most productive of those over the last five years that VVA 1105 has participated in.

The men and women who served this country in a combat situation know how significant a hot, traditional meal during the holidays is to nurture both body and soul.

Mountaire provided shirts and snacks including cookies, chips, hot coffee and cold soda. Chick-fil-A also supplied snacks for volunteers.
