Women’s Club of Milton expresses thanks for food pantry support
The Women’s Club of Milton members would like to thank everyone who supported the National Day of Service by contributing to the food drive at Food Lion Sept. 29 to benefit the Milton Community Food Pantry.
The club collected enough nonperishable items to load up four SUVs outside the Milton supermarket. A team of club members then sorted, packed and prepared the donated goods for the pantry’s Oct. 2 distribution.
The National Day of Service is a day in which all General Federation of Women’s Clubs members come together in service to address an area of need and take action. Addressing food insecurity is a growing need for the local area. Continuing to partner with the Milton Community Food Pantry to address this need made perfect sense.
The Milton Community Food Pantry has seen a 53% increase in need over last year. No one is ever turned away, and all its team members are unpaid volunteers. The pantry is in the process of moving to a permanent location. For more information, go to miltonfoodpantry.org.
