Rehoboth Beach Main Street and Rehoboth Beach Homeowners’ Association will co-host their second annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, in Epworth Cemetery on Henlopen Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.
Each year, on National Wreaths Across America Day, organizations across the country conduct wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.
Local organizers are inviting members of the public to attend and help lay wreaths at the grave sites of the more than 150 veterans who are interred at Epworth Cemetery. Wreaths are provided by donations from local merchants, community groups and individuals.
Former or current armed services members are needed to represent their branch of service during ceremony honors. Each service branch – Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and U.S. Merchant Marine – will have a single member bestowed with the honor of presenting their branch’s ceremonial wreath during the program.
Parking is limited, and participants are asked to arrive early. To learn more, email rehobothwreaths@gmail.com.
