Xi Sigma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority presented a check to atTAcK Addiction at its May 10 meeting. This check is part of the annual Service Committee donation to nonprofits.
atTAcK Addiction was started by Don and Jeanne Keister in February, 2013 after the loss of their son, Tyler, to an accidental overdose.
The Sussex County Chapter of this statewide, nonprofit organization was started in 2014 in an effort to bring more immediate treatment services to Sussex County for those individuals and families impacted by the heroine epidemic. The mission is to raise awareness about the disease of addiction through educating communities, assisting families in their quest for information, and supporting those in recovery.
atTAcK Addiction seeks to remove the stigma of addiction by affecting positive change in Delaware.
The Sussex County chapter meets on the first Wednesday of each month for a support group and on the third Wednesday for a business meeting. All meetings start at 7 p.m., and are held in Bethel United Methodist Church Parsonage Meeting House, 130 W. 4th St. in Lewes.
