Elvis show in Dewey to benefit new Lewes library set April 29

April 21, 2016

A one-night-only Elvis tribute concert to benefit the new Lewes Public Library is set for 7 p.m., Friday, April 29, at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. Noted Elvis performer Jesse Garron and band will be featured. Included are a dinner buffet, dancing, raffles, and a live auction featuring a black four-digit tag. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Garron, whose family is from Lewes, performed his first show in 1998, and is now ranked among the most respected professional acts in local and nationwide venues. A full band and backup singers support the act’s authenticity and delivers a legendary performance of Elvis in his prime years.

Seating is limited and tickets are available for $60. To purchase tickets, go to leweslibrary.ticketleap.com.

Sponsoring the event is an excellent opportunity to gain visibility for a business while supporting an important community cause. There are still a few openings available and interested sponsors should contact Terri Colegrove at tcolegrove@horizonphilanthropic.com or 302-644-0107.

The new 28,500-square-f lot Lewes Public Library is under construction and expected to open in June. “By 2030, the number of people living in and around Lewes will nearly double,” said library board Chair Beckie Healey.

“Our board has spent the last six years studying every aspect of a new facility to ensure state of the art library services for the greater Lewes region for at least the next 30 years.” The project will cost $11 million, 50 percent of which is covered by the State of Delaware.
