Doris Gracey Salin, servant of the Lord

Doris Gracey Salin, 95, of Pennsville, N.J., and Florida, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at her daughter's residence in Milton.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1915, daughter of the late Theodore and Elizabeth (Bates) Stopper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Sanford Gracey in 1975 and two sisters, Margaret S. Welsh and Evelyn S. Glasstetter.

Doris was a loving, faithful and trusting servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. She and her first husband, J. Sanford Gracey, were the founders and charter members of the Park Bible Baptist Church of Pennsville, where she taught the ladies Sunday school Bible class for many years. She also devoted much of her time to the Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Pioneer Girls.

Doris was a talented seamstress and made many of her children's outfits while they were growing. After retirement as an executive assistant for the Hercules Chemical Company, she used her seamstress skills in sewing, crocheting, pine needle basket weaving and many other crafts.

She spent her summer's between Milton and Pennsville, and her winters in Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. and will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur L. Salin of Pennsville; four daughters; Joan G. Thomas of Milton, Shirley G. Travis of Texas, Sandra G. Menard of Nevada and Cynthia A. Abraham of New Jersey; grandsons Neal Thomas of California, Jeffrey Thomas of Delaware, Gary Thomas of Connecticut; grandchildren Timothy Travis, Dawn Bustillos, Daniel Travis, Matthew Travis, Jonathan Travis and Rebecca Hobbs, all of Texas; grandchildren Tina Perra, Michelle Menard, Lori Menard, Scott Menard all of Nevada;; and grandsons Todd Abraham and Brett Abraham, both of New Jersey; great-grandchildren Nicole Thomas and Matthew Thomas, both of California; great-grandchildren Kristin Travis, Hayden Travis, Ryan Travis, Byron Travis, Brianna Bastillos, Taylor Travis, Justine Travis, Kyle Travis, Lainey Travis, Avery Travis, Evan Travis, Blake Travis, Alexa Travis, Gracey Hobbs, Anthony Perra, Alyssa Perra and Katelyn Menard all of Texas; great-grandsons; Joel Abraham and Quinn Abraham, both of New Jersey; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Salin Boos and Jewel Salin Chrustowski both of New Jersey; and stepson, William Salin of Indiana; stepgrandchildren Richard Boos, Carol Ann Boos, Shelly Chrustowski, Renee Chrustowski and Peter Chrustowski all on New Jersey; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Nicholas Boos and Molly Boos, both of New Jersey.

A private graveside service was held in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, N.J.
