Pauline Dix McMullen, devoted church member

Pauline Dix McMullen, 94, of Seaford, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Seaford Center Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Laurel Dec. 28, 1921, daughter of the late Harley and Alice (Wilson) Whaley.

Mrs. McMullen worked for many years as a seamstress for Gant Shirt Company in Salisbury, Md. During her leisure time, she enjoyed solving puzzles and word books. Mrs. McMullen was also a devoted and longtime member of the Seaford Christian Church in Seaford.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Dix in 1968; second husband, Julian McMullen in 1999; three brothers: Charles Glen Whaley, Melvin Joseph Whaley and Layton Manning Whaley; a sister, Dorothy Whaley Hoffman; stepson Larry McMullen and his wife Barbara McMullen; and a stepsister Julia Lee Bradley. She is survived by her two sisters, Janice Brittingham Dix of Seaford and Kitty Bledsoe of Denton, Md.; many step grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, at 11 a.m., at Seaford Christian Church, 22581 Sussex Highway, Seaford, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., at the Parksley Cemetery, Parksley, Va.
