The Cape Henlopen varsity baseball team kept its DIAA State Tournament hopes alive May 16 with a 15-11 nonconference win over Delmarva Christian High School at Sports at the Beach in Georgetown. The Vikes are now 9-7 on the season.

Junior shortstop Diaz Nardo slugged two homeruns and a double, gathering six RBI's in the contest. Sophomore Tucker Nickerson had a single and went yard once, scoring three RBI's. Junior first baseman Jake Dmiterchik added a three-run homer for the Vikings.

Casey Zitvogel and Tyler Troyer each homered for the Royals.

Nickerson made his first start of the season and pitched four innings, allowing five runs, and was relieved by Griffin Kammerer and Jake Dmiterchik.

The Vikings traveled to Milford May 18 for a rescheduled April 12 matchup with the Bucs, and when the final out was made the Vikes had moved to 9-8 by dropping the contest by a score of 12-2.  Cape second baseman Chris Rivera had an RBI single and Jake Dmiterchik added a double for the Vikings.
