Hazel M. Thompson, beauty college owner
Hazel M. Thompson, 95 of Millsboro, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.
Hazel was born in Seaford, Feb. 26, 1921, daughter of the late Leslie and Myrtle (Hudson) Hall. She was the owner and instructor at the Delaware Beauty College in New Castle, and was also an instructor at Sussex Tech.
Hazel and her husband enjoyed traveling, and she was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Concord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph H. Thompson Jr. in 2000; two sisters, Maude Givens and Madelyn Wright; and a brother, Everett Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Janet L. Warrington and her husband Art of Millsboro; her grandson, William Keith Brumbley and his wife Wendi of Bear; four surviving sisters, Evelyn Burton of Rehoboth Beach, Betty Cummings and family of Preston, Md., Dorothy Givens and family from Seaford, and Jeanette Reed and family of Hurlock, Md. Hazel is also survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and Vickie Givens, a niece of Annapolis, Md., was a like a second daughter who she talked to almost every day.
A celebration of her life will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 19, at Concord United Methodist Church, 25322 Church Road, Concord. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Hazel's name to Concord United Methodist Church.
