C. Madelyn Mills, country-western singer
C. Madelyn Mills, 81, of Millsboro, passed peacefully with family surrounding her Wednesday, March 1, 2017, under the exceptional care of the nurses at Wilmington Hospital.
Madelyn was born in Wilmington. During her life she worked many hospitality jobs but her claim to fame is sharing her beautiful voice as a country-western singer known as "Trigger Star." Madelyn always saw the best in people, and devoted her life to helping others with a generous heart. She was happiest when entertaining while surrounded by her family and friends.
Madelyn was the daughter of Clarence Hudson and Nina Hastings. Madelyn will be dearly missed by her son, John Mills, (Kathy Mills) of Aston, Pa.; her sisters Evelyn Cahall of Mays Landing, N.J., and Kathleen Bird of Wilmington; her grandchildren, John, Jim and Michael Mills of Aston, Megan Lundback of Sweden and Preston Chamberlain of Elsmere. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
She is now reunited with her children; Thea and Anthony Bero, with her husband John Mills, as well as her siblings; Ellen, Nelson, Franklin, Ruth, Barbara and James.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that a random act of kindness is given to a stranger to celebrate her life.
