Nathaniel “June” Powell Jr., 81, of Lincoln passed away at his home Wednesday, July 6,2011, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 20, 1929.
He was the son of the the Late Nathaniel Powell Sr. and Mary Powell. He owned his own trucking business and he loved working outside on his farmland. He was known for his quick humor and the witnessing he did for the Lord and his famous saying "AAAAmen.”
He is survived by his wife Josephine Powell; and his five children Jean Powell, Delema Duffy, Nathan Powell, Elaine Weaver and Dwayne Powell.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 15, at his home church, The Community Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Coverdale Crossroads, Seaford, and the funeral services will be held at Jesus Love Temple in Milford Saturday July 16. The viewing that day will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., when services begin.
The burial will be at the Old Hickory Cemetery In Slaughter Neck. The repast will be at the Milford Middle School following the burial.
