Kelsey Kormanik
This District 3 All-Star has battled back from a still nagging PCL tear in her knee to play a nearly flawless Senior Softball World Series behind the plate. She has also picked up seven hits for the host team, going 4-for-4 against East, 1-for-3 against Southwest and 2-for-4 against Latin America. "I'm so excited to have her in batting lineup this year," said District 3 manager and her father Craig Kormanik. "If you give her a fun, relaxed atmosphere, she performs at a whole other level." During the 2-1 12-inning win over Southwest, she had numerous run-stopping plays at the plate to keep the Texas team from going ahead. A carpenter track junior at Sussex Tech, she wants to pursue a career in teaching after college.
Kylie Kruger
Just a sophomore at Sussex Tech, this environmental honors student has come through for the District 3 squad at the plate and in the field. She went 2-for-4 with a walk against the East squad and 3-for-4 with an RBI against the Southwest team. "Kylie is one of the most dedicated players that truly loves the game," said manager Craig Kormanik. "I'm amazed at how much power she demonstrates at the plate on a consistent level." She also had two valuable sacrifices to move the runners in the 2-1 win over Southwest. She plays for the Diamond State Swoop travel team out of Laurel during the off-season. A natural athlete, she plays third base for the Ravens, but can pitch and move to any position in the field where the team needs her.
Sierra Livingston
Getting the valuable hits when the District 3 team needed them, this rising Sussex Tech junior slammed a Texas fastball into right field for a double in the 12th inning against Southwest to score Jordyn DiFava from second to win the game. She also knocked in runs in the wins over the East squad and the Latin America team. "Sierra has one of the strongest bats in the lineup," said manager Craig Kormanik. "She really comes through when we need her." A fleet-footed outfielder, she has stolen two bases in the three games. Also a member of the volleyball team for the Ravens, this dental track honors student plays for the Swoop travel ball squad. "I'm really happy that I can help this team at the plate or in the field,” she said.
Taylor Wroten
This rising Sussex Tech senior has thrown every pitch for the District 3 All-Stars during the Senior Softball World Series in Roxana. She struck out 13 of the 26 batters she faced against the East team from Massachusetts, six batters from a talented Southwest squad from Texas, and five from Latin America. She also has delivered at the plate with five RBIs in the first three games. "I love to live on my curveball," she said. "Taylor is one of the only pitchers that seem to get stronger as the game goes on," said manager Craig Kormanik. "She is one of Delaware's premier pitchers." Taylor was the winning pitcher in the title game of the 2017 World Series. An honors student at Tech, she also plays hockey and swims for the Ravens.
