Milton planners approve new law office

Milton Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a request for special use to open a new law office on Broad Street.

Wilmington-based lawyer Philip Finestrauss told the commission Nov. 20 he plans to open a satellite office in a home at 112 Broad St. Finestrauss, who specializes in personal injury and criminal law, said the office would be part-time, serving clients on an appointment-only basis. He said the majority of his Milton business would be for personal injury clients.

Finestrauss said there will be no structural modifications to the building. The office where most business will be conducted is a 12-by-15-foot space, he said, and Finestrauss will have a small sign out front. A special permitted use was required as the house is located in the residential zoning district. No opening date for the office has been set.

Finestrauss’s law office would be the second one opened in Milton in 2018. Wilmington-based attorney Denise Nordheimer opened a satellite office on Federal Street in June.

“We like to encourage small businesses within the boundaries of Milton,” Chairman Richard Trask said. “Welcome to the town.”
