Meoli Companies to sponsor East Millsboro Girls on the Run team

McDonald’s/Meoli Companies is sponsoring the spring 2019 Girls on the Run East Millsboro Elementary School team and contributing to the Girls on the Run Delaware full and partial scholarship fund, ensuring many more girls in Sussex County can participate in the program. This marks the fourth season “running” that McDonald’s/Meoli Companies has supported Girls on the Run Delaware.

Girls on the Run is a positive youth development program for third- to eighth-grade girls. The mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Some 110 teams and more than 1,500 girls and 350 volunteer coaches are involved statewide in the 10-week program for the spring 2019 season that concludes with a celebratory 5K race.

The 5K for teams in Kent and Sussex counties will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 19, at Delaware Tech Owens Campus in Georgetown, with approximately 1,300 girls, running buddies and community runners expected.
