Stanley J. Sage, former Rehoboth employee

Stanley J Sage, 81, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Perry Point VA Medical Center Hospice Unit, Perry Point, Md., surrounded by his loving family. He was born in East Orange, N.J., Jan. 20, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Rose (Cherubin) Sajewicz.

Mr. Sage served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict in Germany and attended Upsala College and the University of Maryland.  He was a member of Oak Orchard-Riverdale American Legion Post 28, Rehoboth VFW Post 7447, NARFE, APWU and a parishioner of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church of Millsboro. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Rehoboth Beach office, and was a seasonal meter technician for the city of Rehoboth Beach.

Mr. Sage is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (Reynolds) Sage; one daughter, Gail A. Kelly and her husband John of Mount Holly, N.J.; two grandchildren, Christopher Kelly and his wife Wendy and Alicia Givey and her husband Ryan; and four great-grandchildren, Summer, Makensy and Faith Kelly and Seamus Givey.

Friends may call at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro. Burial will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
