Demolition preparation in time of corona

Demolition of two wings on either side of the 1921 Lewes School on Savannah Road will be starting soon. Contractors last week began preparing the site for the demolition, erecting a chain link fence around the area to be affected. The original center section is remaining and construction by Cape Henlopen School District will lead to a new middle school. While the fence was being erected, other work was being done inside the two wings to salvage usable materials and items.
