The Lewes Public Library has just wrapped up its exciting 31 Chances to Win fundraiser. The support of the library’s patrons, who bought 581 tickets, made for a successful event netting over $9,500 to help fund the library’s many free programs and services. The Lewes Public Library is an independent library and as such must raise over 50 percent of its annual operating funds every year.
Fundraisers, annual appeals, and endowment contributions all go toward keeping the doors open and offering the wonderful programs and services available to the Lewes community.
During these trying times, the library staff and board would like to thank everyone for their support. From the businesses that donated gift certificates to everyone who bought tickets, we appreciate each and every one of you, and are deeply grateful to be a part of such an amazing community. In turn, we will strive to continue providing the programs, workshops, and services that you have come to expect.
The library currently is closed in compliance with Gov. Carney’s stay-at-home order. We miss seeing each and every one of you, and want you to stay safe and stay healthy.
In the meantime, we hope you will take advantage of the many programs and services we are offering online. Please visit our website (lewes.lib.de.us) for a full listing of everything available for adult, teens, children and families.
Thank you to everyone for working with us to make this fundraiser a success. We look forward to seeing you again when we are able to reopen.
