December 5, 2011

Steve Rogers, a local artist, is primarily known for painting local seascapes. He is also well known as a shipmodel builder, and he is the recipient of the 2005 Established Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts and a member of Delaware by Hand.

Rogers recently donated a beautiful 11”x14” original oil painting of a well, which is located on the society’s historic complex which has been decorated for the holidays.

The Lewes Historical Society welcomes the public to win this painting by purchasing raffle tickets at $5 per chance. Tickets are on sale at the Ryves Holt House Museum Shop on the corner of Mulberry and Second streets in Lewes. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 302-645-7670 ext. 12.  The winning ticket will be drawn on Thursday, Dec. 22.

Proceeds will benefit the society’s efforts to continue offering a rich and exciting array of activities that engage our visitors and promote Lewes' unique heritage to an ever-increasing number of seasonal guests and year-round residents of the area.
