Lewes in Bloom wreath orders to open Oct. 12

October 7, 2020

Holiday decorations from Lewes in Bloom lift everyone's spirits.

It's an annual tradition for Lewes in Bloom to sell natural, decorated wreaths from Maine, constructed of fragrant balsam fir, adorned with a beautiful six-loop red bow.

To order anytime from Monday, Oct. 12 to Friday, Nov. 6, see a Lewes in Bloom volunteer go to lewesinbloom.org. The wreaths are available in two sizes: 24 inches for $40 or 32 inches for $60.

Volunteers will deliver wreaths to a person’s home or business Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 2 and 3.

The wreath sale is a major fundraiser for Lewes in Bloom, enabling the 280-person volunteer organization to use the profits to plant tulips and annual blooms in more than 26 locations throughout the city. Lewes in Bloom also maintains the Children's Learning Garden in Stango Park and the herb garden at the Fisher-Martin House in Zwaanendael Park.

Wreath profits also support Art in Bloom, a project that further enhances the beauty and unique qualities of Lewes through public art. Completed installations include the three Silent Sentinels, kinetic sculptures near the Lewes Public Library, and a large mural on the Beacon Motel wall depicting Lewes' past menhaden fishing industry. Currently, Art in Bloom volunteers recently completed a 100-foot-long mosaic mural with a local sea life theme, to be hung on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal drawbridge in town in the near future, following bridge reconstruction.

Wreath order proceeds keep Lewes blooming with beautiful gardens and artistic installations for all to enjoy.
