Evelyn R. Wade, prayer warrior
Evelyn “Meme’”Wade, 90, of Galloway, N.J., and Rehoboth passed away Saturday May 8, 2021, at Meadowview Nursing Home, Northfield, N.J., after a long stay. She was born in 1930, the daughter of the late Rev. John R. Weber and Anna Seeger Weber in Garden City, Ks.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Jack, and sister, Shirley. She was the loving wife of her late husband, Benjamin Wade, who was the love of her life. She leaves behind her children, daughter Wendy Stubb (Wade) and her husband Louis, sons, David and his wife Ali and Glenn Wade; her sister, Harriet Basley of Indianapolis, Ind.; her grandchildren, Louis “Skip,” Elisabeth, John, Ben, Mike, Morgan, Alex, Christopher, Bethany, Katie, Anna and Alicia; she is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren.
Her life was filled with the love of Christ her Savior and she had a servant's heart. She loved the Lord and volunteered in every church and community that she lived in. She was involved in The Ocean Grove Historical Society, VFW Auxiliary, St. Paul’s Church and The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Rehoboth Beach. Mom was an excellent cook, gardener, mentor and Sunday school teacher. There was never a child that she didn’t love, and there are so many that she held in her heart. Mom was also a prayer warrior until the end. There always had time to pray and be thankful.
Burial will be noon, Wednesday May 12, at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, N.J. There will be a memorial service conducted at a later date at the United Methodist Church at Absecon, N.J.
