Eagle Scout project garden grows produce for food pantry

August 26, 2021

As part of his Eagle Scout project, Clemens Robinson of Troop 95 proposed and designed the Georgetown Community Garden at Georgetown Presbyterian Church. Produce from the garden is donated to the food pantry at Wesley United Methodist Church.

The four planting beds, three of which are raised, were built, filled and planted by Troop 95 members. Church members tend the garden under the leadership of Sharon Lawrence.

Those who contributed materials for the project include Austin Short, Stockley Materials and Sharon Lawrence. Several Scout dads helped oversee construction of the beds, and church members furnished refreshments to the hardworking scouts as the project got underway.
