James Gibson II, Corvette enthusiast
James Gibson II, 66, of Georgetown passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born in San Diego, Calif., Jan. 14, 1955, and lived most of his life in York, Pa., before moving to Delaware. He was the son of the of the late James and Wilma (Sorensen) Gibson of York. He was predeceased by his brother Carl Gibson of Warren, Maine.
Mr. Gibson was self-employed as a wholesale purveyor of restaurant equipment. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast, and he enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows.
His is survived by his partner of over 20 years, Diane Gullo (whom he affectionately called Greta) of Georgetown; two sisters, Carol Orlock of Port Townsend, Wash., and Nancy Gibson of Christiansburg, Va.; a brother, David Gibson of Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law and friend Polly Gibson of Warren; a nephew, Chris Gibson; a niece, Julie Gibson, and a great-nephew Luke O’Connell. He is also survived by his six rescue cats.
