Six athletes commit via early signing at Sussex Academy

Six Sussex Academy athletes signed National Letters of Intent Nov. 10 at their Georgetown school.
Those committing to attend a college or university and play a sport include: Kenny Cay (Newberry College, lacrosse), Bella Guckes (Dickinson College, lacrosse), Emma Westbrook (Newberry College, field hockey), Hannah Lydic (Richmond University, golf), Madison Leeper (UMass Lowell, field hockey), and Emma Lehman (Mary Washington College, field hockey).
Kenny Cay is heading to Newberry College to play lacrosse. The Wolves are a Division II program and play in the South Atlantic Conference. Located in South Carolina, they are coached by Nick Cotter.
Bella Guckes is heading to Dickinson College to play lacrosse for the Division III Red Devils of the Centennial Conference. They are coached by Kim Masimore.
Madison “Pinky” Leeper will attend UMass Lowell and play field hockey. A Division I program, the River Hawks play in the American East Conference and are coached by Shannon LeBlanc, who has been at the helm for 20 years.
Emma Lehman is heading to Division III Mary Washington College of Fredericksburg, Va., to play field hockey. The Shorewomen of coach Jaimie Tierney Harris play in the Coast to Coast Conference with Salisbury and Christopher Newport
Hanna Lydic will attend Division I University of Richmond to play golf for the Spiders and coach Calle Barlow. Richmond plays in the Patriot League.
Emma Westbrook is going to Newberry College, a Division II program, to play field hockey for the Wolves of coach Hannah Dave.
