St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes held its nativity pageant, "Darkness Into Light," Dec. 11.
The annual pageant returned this year after a two-year absence. It featured children of the parish with only a single adult role of John the Baptist, who served as the narrator.
The pageant was true to scripture, using actual wording from the Bible, as it moved from Isaiah crying in the wilderness to Mary being visited by the angel, King Herod's efforts to find the Christ child and finally, the Holy Family's flight to Egypt.
Music and song accompanied the pageant. There was no admission cost, but donated canned goods were collected for the needy.
