Rehoboth Art League juried photography exhibit opens Jan. 14

January 13, 2022

The Rehoboth Art League will debut its first exhibition of the year at its historic Henlopen Acres campus Friday, Jan. 14.

Now in its seventh year, the popular regional juried photography exhibition returns to the Corkran Gallery.

This annual exhibition invites artists from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., to submit their latest photographic work. This year, works by 23 artists were selected for the exhibition from a pool of more than 100 submissions. The work represents a wide array of technique and content, from traditional modernist approaches to contemporary and alternative media.

This year’s exhibition juror and awards judge is Paul Rider, a Philadelphia-based artist who earned his BFA in photography from Philadelphia College of Art and his MFA in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design. He was a founding member of the photographic cooperative Level 3 and teaches photography at the university level. Rider’s award selections for the exhibition represent $900 in prize money for participating artists.

Due to health and safety concerns, there will not be an opening reception for this exhibition. Instead, community members are invited to visit the spacious campus during normal gallery hours to view the exhibitions. The Rehoboth Art League is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m., Sunday.
