Virtual meditation retreat set Feb. 12
Insight Meditation Community of Lewes will welcome meditation teacher Carl Skooglund for a virtual retreat from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, via Zoom. The event will include a dharma talk on the topic of Making Effort Easier.
“‘Right effort,’ as the early Buddhist tradition calls it, is a vital facet of the path. But it is sometimes viewed with a bit of suspicion, doubt or even resentment. During our time together, I hope to offer up some fresh perspectives and practices that will help effort make more sense, and seem more valuable, which can make effort much easier,” said Skooglund.
All are welcome to attend this day of meditation and discussion.
Skooglund is a charter member of the board and regular teacher at the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. He trained with Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader program.
The suggested donation is $30 for the full-day retreat. For those with limited income, 50 percent, or any amount of the suggested donation offered, is welcome. If budget does not allow for a donation, simply show up; no explanation is needed.
