Virtual dialogue on Delaware’s Climate Action Plan set Feb. 1

Delaware Interfaith Power & Light will host a virtual event in partnership with the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, to discuss Delaware’s Climate Action Plan. Susan Love, DNREC Climate and Sustainability Section administrator, will explain how the state plans to reduce its carbon emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change, and what roles Delawareans can play to support it. A group of prominent faith leaders will explore their perspectives on climate change and what role faith communities play in responding to this challenge.

Interfaith leader panel members are: the Rev. Andy Jacob, Hanover Presbyterian Church, Wilmington; Rabbi Yair Robinson, Congregation Beth Emeth, Wilmington; the Rev. Joseph Archie, Peninsula-Delaware Conference Delaware District superintendent; and Irfan Patel, Islamic Society of Delaware president.

Since Delaware faces huge risks from climate change, such as dealing with the effects of sea-level rise and stronger storms, understanding how the state will work to fight climate change is crucial for Delawareans to understand.
