Patsy Jane Holston, loving wife, mother
On Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, Patsy “Pat” Jane Holston, a loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 83. Pat was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Milford. After attending Georgetown High School, Pat worked for Stockley Center before fulfilling her dream of owning a floral business. Pat and her late husband Ray opened and ran The Blue Barn Flowers and Gifts in Georgetown for 19 years, before retiring and building their dream home. Pat loved to cook and take care of her family. She would frequently have large family dinners multiple times a week and hosted all the holidays for her family. Pat could often be found rescuing animals and bringing them home, or feeding them. She enjoyed surprising Ray with their new adoptions.
Pat is survived by her son, Gregory Donaway (Debbie); daughter-in-law, Venetia Daisey (Robert); granddaughters, Adrienne, Erica, and Dara Donaway; sister-in-law, Virginia Molloy; nephews, Carl “Dick” Niblett, Sean Molloy, Robert Jones (Shelley), John Wilkerson Jr. (Sandra), Wayne Holston (Zela), Alvin Holston (Dana), Wade Willey (Amy); as well as nieces, Linda Brittingham (Gary), Karen Franklin, and Bonnie Hatcher (Gary).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Charles “Ray” Holston; son, Jeffrey Donaway; mother, Mabel Truitt Webb; father, Leroy Webb; sisters, Doris Niblett (Carl), Betty Mumford (Marshall “Bill”), and Grace Wilkerson (John), brothers-in-law, Reese “Sadie” Holston, and Woodrow “Woody” Holston; sister-in-law, Margaret Willey; as well as nieces, Marsha Jenney and Joyce Hamada.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to caregivers, Kim Bernard, Angie Ward, and Karen Franklin for her excellent care at home. We would also like to express gratitude and thanks to the staff at Cadia Renaissance for their outstanding care.
Due to the current health crisis and restrictions on public gatherings, a private service was held honoring Pat’s life.
Arrangements were in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
