Pop-up art and gift shop coming to Selbyville June 15-18

June 8, 2022

A group of eight local artists and artisans will offer their creations to the public from Wednesday to Saturday, June 15 to 18, in a special pop-up shopping venue at 14 W. Church St., Selbyville. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday.

The storefront is being offered for weekly rentals by owner Leigh Scott, who also owns Synergy Cafe next door. Local artist Carol Gentes decided to rent the building the week leading up to the annual Old Timer’s Day Classic Car Show and Family Festival on Saturday, June 18. The festival, in its 65th year, draws a large crowd to Church Street, which is closed for the day and lined with classic cars and trucks. There will be music, food vendors, a beer garden, children’s activities, and now an art and gift shop.

Participating artisans and their wares are: Carol Gentes, Pigment of the Imagination - dotted and mixed media acrylics and painted rocks; Angela Pierce, Angelas Art - oil paintings; Beth Whitman-Pitzer, Moon Shell Paper Co. - watercolors and cards; Craig Stewart, CRS Glass - stained glass; and jewelry to suit any style from Gail Gingrich, Beach Stone Jewelry; Lois Porterfield, Flablingos; Nancy Bramble, Bramble on Jewelry; and Cathay Cranfield - Beach Rocks! All will be on hand to greet shoppers, discuss their artistic processes and creations, and help everyone find the perfect items to keep or give as gifts.
