Outdoor evening services resume at All Saints' Church June 4
All Saints' Episcopal Church, located at 18 Olive Ave. in downtown Rehoboth Beach, will resume casual outdoor Saturday evening services at 5 p.m., June 4.
Everyone is invited to bring a beach chair or blanket and come as they are, even directly off the beach, Boardwalk or street. Services take place in the church gardens adjacent to the historic 1894 church structure, the oldest and only original worship site still standing and in continuous use in Rehoboth.
Off-street parking is available in the church parking lot located just off First Street and Olive Avenue. Included in the services will be scripture readings, prayers, a brief homily, holy communion and guest musicians representing a variety of genres.
"No two weeks will be exactly the same," said Jon Rania, parish director of music and communications. "This was a very popular service last season, and we are happy to bring it back."
Rania added, “In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved inside, but it will follow the same format as if it were outside.”
The service is under an hour long and there is no charge to attend. All are welcome regardless of their faith background, custom or affiliation. A freewill offering will be taken to help offset the cost of providing these special services.
"We will continue to offer this service into the fall and maybe beyond if there is a demand for it," said Rania.
