Historic Lewes Farmers Market, other events canceled for Oct. 1

Due to the forecast for inclement weather with rain and high winds predicted, the following events have been canceled or postponed:

• Historic Lewes Farmers Market will not be open this Saturday, Oct. 1. The event will return for the fall market Saturday, Oct. 8.

• Organizers of the Wings & Wheels event at Delaware Coastal Airport in Georgetown also canceled their Oct. 1 activities. The Island Hangar Party and dinner show will still take place from 6 to 10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the airport; call 302-856-1544 or go to georgetowncoc.com for details.

• The Lewes Historical Society Fall Craft Fair has been postponed to Oct. 22-23. 

• The Lewes Chamber of Commerce has canceled Oct. 1 Boast the Coast events in 1812 Park in Lewes. Maritime History Boat Tours by Cape Water Tours have been rescheduled for 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22. Tours will depart from 217 Anglers Road. • Lewes Public Library’s Community Carnival, set for Oct. 1, has been canceled.

• The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company’s Fire Prevention Celebration, set for Oct. 1 at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, has been canceled.

• Coast Day, scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Hugh R. Sharp Campus in Lewes, has been canceled.

• Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Team Hope Walk on Oct. 1 at Cape Henlopen State Park has moved to a virtual event. Participants can participate by walking anywhere between now and Nov. 30. Go to northeast.hdsa.org/events/delaware-team-hope-walk for more information.

• The Mispillion Performance Series set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at 101 S. Walnut St. in Milford, has been canceled.

  • Live music at the inaugural Milton New Music and Wind Festival, 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, is cancelled. However, if weather clears up and wind is manageable, folks are still invited to fly kites at 614 Federal St. near the Rails to Trails. The live music performances will be rescheduled to either the weekend of Oct. 8 or in early November depending on musician availability.
