Penny L. Rogers, loved her family

Penny L. Rogers, 70, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus.

Penny was born in Lewes to Norman Layton and Eva (Cullen) Tindall.  She worked at Stockley Center for over 15 years, and was a member of Georgetown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Degree of Pocahontas.  She loved to spend time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, as well as crocheting.  She was also a Pop Warner cheerleading coach in the early ‘80s.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Layton.

Penny is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Rogers Jr., whom she called Junior; her mother, Eva Tindall; her children, Robert Rogers III (Kim), Mark Rogers (Kristy) and Stacie Rogers; twin sister, Peggy Clausen; and sister, Lee Reed; grandchildren, Robby Rogers, Nathan Rogers, Hunter Rogers, Haley Rogers and Troy Rogers; three great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Daye, Gracie Rogers and Layla Rogers; and her beloved cat, Mo. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 11 a.m.  Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
