Reginald Burelle Jackson, avid hunter, gardener
Reginald Burelle Jackson, 86, of Millsboro, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Jan. 21, 1936, in Millsboro to the late Hersel and Elsie Jackson.
Reginald was a lifelong resident of Delaware. He and his wife of 23 years, Judith, were married Aug. 26, 1999. He was self-employed as a construction contractor for over 45 years. He was a wonderful provider for his family. He enjoyed spending time with them, as well as being a jokester. Reginald was an avid hunter and had hunted rabbit, squirrel, quail and deer with his hunting dogs by his side. At one point he had owned racehorses and his special one was Buoy O Buoy. Reginald also enjoyed gardening. He’d go out and tend to his garden from sunup until sundown.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hersel and Elsie Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Judith; four children, Stelene Oliver (George), Gary B. Jackson (Jo Anne), Katrina Johnson (Jeffrey) and Kim Jackson (Terri), all of Millsboro; three stepchildren, Jeffrey Roberts (Bonnie) of Millsboro, Andy Roberts (Becky) of Harbeson, and Susy Hopkins (Dale) of Milton; one sister, Blonnie Zakrociemski (Casmere) of Laurel; one brother, Samuel Jackson (Sylvia) of Newark; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Reginald is also survived by extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. A public viewing will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Interment will be at Harmony Cemetery.
