Ralph Irvin Daub, man of many interests

October 6, 2022

Ralph Irvin Daub, 82, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022. He was born Nov. 7, 1939, in Avon, Pa., son of the late Robert Kline and Esther Emma (Bernheisel) Daub.

A native of Lebanon County, Pa., Ralph was a graduate of Northern Lebanon High School. His path led him to a career in banking, assisting families in his community as a mortgage processor, retiring from M & T Bank.

He was a man of many interests. Ralph was a faithful and active member of Henlopen Grange, Sussex Pomona Grange, and Delaware State Grange.  He served in various offices in all three.  In 2020, he was honored by Henlopen Grange Number 20 with a 55-year membership pin. He was a very active member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, where he was the verger, eucharistic minister, and frequently volunteered in the church office. He enjoyed traveling and he also loved to cook, making delicious meals for family and friends. His potato salad was especially good, so much so that it was one of the items served in the Grange food booth at the Delaware State Fair! Above all else, Ralph cherished the time spent with those that he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Daub (Gladys) and Leon Daub (Muriel); his sisters, Grace Fortna (Richard) and Sally Ann Boyer (Larry). He is survived by several very special nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at Bunker Hill Evangelical Church Cemetery, 2208 PA-72, Lebanon, Pa.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Mr. Daub’s memory to All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, allsaintsandstgeorges.org.
