Royals boys’ basketball grounds Herons in ESIAC semifinal

Delmarva Christian to face Salisbury School in final contest

Delmarva Christian School hosted the Gunston School in the ESIAC semifinal Feb. 15, garnering a 60-44 win to move them into the ESIAC final against the Salisbury School. The Royals and Dragons have split their meetings this season, with the Royals taking a 79-70 win in the Jan. 17 game. The Dragons took the second meeting 73-65 Feb. 2.

Junior Ed Higgins led the Royals with 25 points. Carter Breasure scored 18, while Mason Bohinski added 14. Kasey Bell, Xavier Efford, Malachi Light and Gideon Woods teamed for 12 points.

Mekonnen Sahle-Selassie and Aiden Dunlap scored 10 points each for the Herons.

The ESIAC final will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17, at Delmarva Christian in Georgetown.

He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
