Dewey Beer Co. to host popup taproom at Denver festival

September 14, 2023

Recently ranked the No. 1 favorite brewery in the First State by Delaware drinkers according to beer-rating app Untappd, Dewey Beer Company announced it is taking the beach to the mountains.

Dewey Beer will host a four-day pop-up taproom during the Great American Beer Festival from noon to 10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, Sept. 20-23, in Denver, Colo.

Dewey Beer began distributing beer in Colorado in 2022 with wholesale partner Colorado Craft Distributors with the concept of connecting the brewery’s beach lifestyle and vibe with the culture and adventures of Colorado’s mountains. Dewey Beer recently participated and was voted Best Brewery at the Keystone Bluegrass & Beer Festival for the second year in a row by its guests.

Dewey Beer will be bringing a full menu of its distinctive beer lineup of IPAs, lagers and fruit smoothie beers as well as a number of limited-release beers that typically would only be served at the brewpub locations in Dewey Beach and Harbeson.

A few highlights include: El Trono, a crushable Mexican Lager; Dewey’s signature hazy IPA, Swishy Pants; the brand new West Coast Style IPA, Sun Camp; the very limited Thrills: Negroni Peach Orange, a 5.25% ABV thick fruit smoothie beer; and specialty autumn releases such as Secret Machine: Raspberry Almond Cookies and Secret Machine: Pomegranate Cranberry Strawberry Muffins.

The Dewey Beer Pop-Up Taproom will be hosted at the former Mockery Brewing location at 3501 Delgany St. in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood. Beers will be available on draft to enjoy at the taproom or on the outdoor patio, and a selection of canned beers and merchandise will be available to take home.

Co-owners Mike Reilly and Brandon Smith are looking forward to the pop-up event. “We were excited to enter the portal and make our way to Colorado to join Coach Prime,” said Reilly.

Dewey Beer Company has two locations, the flagship brewpub and restaurant in Dewey Beach and the two-year-old production facility in Harbeson. Opened in 2021, the second facility allows Dewey Beer Company to brew up to 10,000 barrels a year, with the capacity to expand up to 25,000 in the future. The newer location also includes a canning line and tasting room, and wood fire pizza from Pizza Machine.
