Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland
Another great weekend of fall festivals is planned for the next few days here at the Delaware and Maryland beaches and in other locations throughout the region.
Headlined by festivities in Lewes, Georgetown, and Rehoboth Beach, the coming weekend provides several great opportunities for getting outside and enjoying this great time of year at and near the beaches.
Let's get right into it. Here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for the extended weekend of October 6-8.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Boast the Coast Maritime Festival (October 7)
This 27th annual event in downtown Lewes is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 7.
Hosted by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce, this festival showcases the "First Town in the First State's" nautical heritage and generally draws a large crowd to Lewes during each year's Fall Festival Season.
1812 Park will again be front and center this year with activities that include free boat tours courtesy of the Freedom Boat Club, live music, kids' activities, face painting, and more.
The Lewes Maritime Museum, the Cannonball House, the U.S. LIfe-Saving Station, and the Lightship Overfalls will all be open for free tours during the Boast the Coast Day festivities in Lewes.
