Stephanie V. Hopkins, retired dietary aide

Stephanie V. Hopkins, 64, known as Steph, peacefully departed this life Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Stephanie was born Jan. 25, 1959, in Lewes, daughter of Paul Hopkins Sr. and Laura Hopkins. She graduated from Sussex Central High School, during which time she played her favorite sport of softball and met her sweetheart of 50 years, Keith White. 

She was a dedicated dietary aide, retiring after 30 years of service from Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Millsboro. Her favorite pastimes included crossword puzzles, reading, and watching her favorite daytime soap operas. 

Preceding her in death are her loving parents, Paul Hopkins Sr. and Laura Hopkins; brother, Lonnie E. Hopkins; sister, Janice Hopkins-Tingle; and brother, Paul C. Hopkins Jr. Stephanie is survived by longtime partner, Keith White; their three children, Keith D. Hopkins and wife Jamie Hopkins, Keiyanda Hopkins, and Keon D. Hopkins; sisters, Joan Hopkins-Milbourne and Jacqueline Hopkins-Williams (Ivory); four grandchildren, La`Bria T. Hopkins, Moniya D. Hopkins, Kahleel M. Hopkins and Kahlim M. Hopkins; five great-grandchildren, Sean Wilson, Solana Hopkins, Ka’viyon Hopkins, Kah’mouri Hopkins and Malaya Hopkins. Stephanie also leaves to cherish her memories, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct 8, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, with a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
