Santa’s arrival to kick off Milford winter festivities Nov. 25
Downtown Milford Inc. invites everyone to participate in this year’s winter festivities starting on Shop Small Saturday, Nov. 25, when downtown Milford merchants and restaurants will be open all day.
The golden ticket passport to small businesses will be available at participating businesses from the week of Nov. 25 to Saturday, Dec. 2, so patrons can get their passports stamped for the holiday stroll giveaway set for 3 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3. The golden ticket passport helps introduce area residents to Milford’s unique downtown businesses and restaurants via a map. Participants follow the instructions on the passport and bring their stamped passports to the Downtown Milford Inc. table at the holiday stroll and Christmas market by 7 p.m., Dec. 3, to receive an ornament (while supplies last) and be entered into a drawing.
At 10 a.m., elf parade participants will gather at Bridging the Gap Thrift Store where elves will parade along the Riverwalk to the Riverfront Theater to welcome Santa Claus to Milford. To register to be part of the elf parade and be entered into a drawing, go to forms.gle/hA9bp9eiXdhGAdSg9.
Milford Community Band will start playing holiday music at 10:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., Santa Claus will arrive on an antique fire truck, assisted by the Carlisle Fire Company. Santa will be available for visits from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Santa House, 1 North Walnut St., Milford. He will continue to be available for visits throughout the holiday season from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sundays, and 5 to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 23, when he must depart to prepare for his worldwide sleigh ride.
Holiday music continues from noon to 1 p.m., with tunes from The Leftovers music duo.
Winter festivities continue with the the holiday stroll and Christmas market Dec. 3. Entertainment, food and fun activities are planned along Walnut Street and surrounding areas, including a live nativity, strolling choirs, gymnastic tumblers, Irish dancers and a leprechaun, ornament crafts, s’mores fire pit, hot cocoa stations, raffles, and elves mingling with community members. Along the Riverwalk, the Christmas market will feature exceptional artisan-made gifts and more.
