Camera club to host virtual photo beach bash Feb. 24-25
To help photographers of all skill levels and genres expand their creativity and hone their skills, Coastal Camera Club of Lewes will present its fourth annual virtual photo beach bash, a free two-day online event starting at 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24 and 25, to present nationally known photography experts Chuck Kimmerle and Bob Coates.
Kimmerle will kick off the programs Feb. 24 with his presentation, Personal Expression in Black and White. The session will delve into the creative processes of field work and image editing, offering tools to craft compelling and meaningful black-and-white photographs. Deeply rooted in traditional landscape photography, Kimmerle’s work combines contemporary elements and introspection.
Coates will take the virtual stage Feb. 25, with Nature and Wildlife - From Pre-Capture to Post Production and Fine Art Photography. Coates will share insights into the thought process behind capturing and processing wildlife and nature images. The discussion will cover gear preferences, camera supports and creative software applications, offering a comprehensive guide to the entire photography workflow.
Coastal Camera Club has successfully transitioned its annual photo beach bash to a virtual format over the past three years, attracting a global audience of more than 500 photography enthusiasts.
The event is free of charge but registration is required at eventbrite.com.
As a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, Coastal Camera Club encourages donations from U.S. residents to support its initiatives. Those who donate will be entered into two raffles for a print from each of the speakers. Winners will be drawn at 8 p.m. the day of each talk and notified via email. To donate, go to coastalcameraclub.com.
“Our club exists today to encourage and promote interest in photography through education and participation in activities and competitions. The photo beach bash was started in 2013 as an in-person event to enable us to share the joy of photography beyond the club,” said Joanne Tramposch, club president.
Coastal Camera Club continues its regular club meetings via Zoom and in-person gatherings of its special-interest groups.
