The Chiefs are a dynasty

February 16, 2024

The Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in five years. It was only the second overtime game in the Super Bowl era, with a final score of 25-22. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 0-0, and at the end of the first half the score was 10-3 with the 49ers in the lead. The 49ers should have scored a lot more points because Kansas City did not play well in the first half.

In the fourth quarter, there was a big missed point after the 49ers’ touchdown which turned out to be very critical, because after regulation, the score was 19-19. The NFL has changed the overtime playoff rules so both teams get the ball. The 49ers only scored a field goal on their possession in overtime because of a big play by Chris Jones, the Chiefs defensive lineman, preventing a touchdown. As this happened, I had a feeling that the Chiefs were going to win because they have Patrick Mahomes, and he was going to do whatever it took to get a touchdown to win that game.

I am very happy with the progress the 76ers made at the trade deadline, because both Buddy Hield and Cam Payne have played very well in their four games as Sixers. If this continues, the team will probably stay in the fifth or sixth playoff spot in the conference. Joel Embiid will hopefully come back from his injury toward the end of the regular season.

The 76ers have a week off for the All-Star break. I hope Tobias Harris and Nicholas Batum come back healthy after the break. Nicholas has not played many games for the Sixers this year. When he has played, he’s been productive, and I think Tobias has had his most consistent season in his 76ers his career so far.
