Bridgeville man charged with drugs, weapons after raid on home

A Bridgeville man faces gun and drug charges June 7 following a two-month drug investigation.

Members of the Sussex Governor’s Task Force, Sussex Drug Unit, and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team executed a search warrant about 6 a.m. at a residence on Polk Road in Bridgeville for a suspected large-scale distribution of narcotics, police said.

Police found a shotgun, two rifles, three handguns and four revolvers; ammunition; about 350 grams of cocaine; about 6 grams of crack cocaine; 234 dextroamphetamine pills; about 52 Suboxone strips; and $13,293 in suspected drug-dealing proceeds.

Police said Willie Anderson Jr., 50, of Bridgeville is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition. He was taken to Troop 4 and charged with possession with intent to deliver controlled substance tier 3 quantity, possession of controlled substance tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver controlled substance tier 2 quantity, knowingly operating a clandestine laboratory, and other drug and weapon charges.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1,158,600 cash bond.
